How would it sound, if some of the greatest and timeless hits of the 80s were recorded anew in Caribbean reggae style?

The Jamaican producer, Devon Bradshaw, former bass player for Burning Spear, reggae original Prezident Brown and Beezy Coleman, guitarist for Ziggy Marley and others, all asked this very question.
And when they left the Axx Studio in Port Antonio, Jamaica three months later with the completed recording, they were certain they had created something great. If you speak to them about their “80s Go Reggae” album, all three of them start smiling serenely and will tell you nothing at all about it. “Just listen, mon”.

All-time classics like “Twist in my Sobriety”, “Your Love is King” or “Nothing Compares to You” groove on in such an easy-listening and mind-relaxing mode, that you simply cannot imagine, try as you will, that any beach bar could exist on this planet, where this album would not be the perfect soundtrack to unwind to with a chilly sundown drink.
Who would have ever thought that the reggae version of songs like “The Power of Love”, “You’re  the Best Thing” or “Holding Back the Years” would provide such a pleasing acoustical ambience for barbecue parties, dinner parties with good friends or simply for balmy summer evenings.

Seven Jamaican vocalists came together for this coolest concept album of all time, starting with the legendary Uni’Verss, the wonderful Daynea Deacon and the mighty-voiced Kharuso.
“80s Go Reggae” is released by Afrojam Music, a label that has specialized in exciting music from Africa and Jamaica.

There is nothing more to say about this wonderful album, except that hopefully Vol. 2 will be published soon
